Price increase Updated: August 25, 2026

Swisscom customers have paid CHF 22.80 more per year since 1 April

On 1 April 2026, Swisscom raised its blue Mobile plans by CHF 1.90 per month. For around 1.5 million mobile customers that means CHF 22.80 more per year. Anyone who wants the same Swisscom network at significantly lower prices will find cheaper alternatives at Wingo, Migros Mobile and Mucho. The story is part of a larger wave: TalkTalk followed on 1 May, Sunrise and yallo on 1 August.

On 1 April 2026, Swisscom raised all blue Mobile plans by CHF 1.90 per month. Across around 1.5 million mobile customers, the increase adds up to CHF 22.80 extra per year and customer. The story was picked up by Blick.ch, based on data from handyabo.com.

What the price increase means in concrete terms

The adjustment affects the list prices of the blue Mobile S, M and L lines:

PlanBeforeNewDifference
blue Mobile SCHF 69.90CHF 71.80+CHF 1.90
blue Mobile MCHF 79.90CHF 81.80+CHF 1.90
blue Mobile LCHF 99.90CHF 101.80+CHF 1.90

This table records what Swisscom announced in March 2026, with the list prices of that time. It is deliberately not kept up to date. The blue Mobile prices in force today are in the Swisscom profile. One thing to watch when checking: on its own site Swisscom shows the bundle prices with blue Internet, a standalone plan costs CHF 20 more.

In March 2026 the promotional prices stood at CHF 69.90 for these three plans. Once a promotion ends, customers pay the full list price.

Extraordinary right of termination: 30 days guaranteed by law

With a unilateral change to the contract, customers have the statutory right to terminate the plan within 30 days of the announcement, without a penalty fee. Anyone who received the notice in early March could respond until early April. Since blue Mobile plans are in principle cancellable monthly, customers can also switch later without a penalty.

Cheaper alternatives on the identical Swisscom network

Anyone who wants the same Swisscom network with identical quality and coverage, but wants to pay significantly less, has three providers to choose from, all of them running on Swisscom infrastructure:

ProviderPlanPrice/mo.DataSaves vs. blue Mobile S
Migros Mobile (Cumulus points) Swiss Start CHF 13.95
Permanent price
5 GB CHF 551/year
Mucho Swiss CHF 14.90
Promotion, list CHF 49.90
Unlimited Switzerland CHF 540/year
Wingo (100% Swisscom subsidiary) Swiss Go CHF 17.95
Promotion, list CHF 50.00
Unlimited Switzerland CHF 503/year
Migros Mobile Swiss Max CHF 25.95
Permanent price
Unlimited Switzerland CHF 407/year

Data as of 25 August 2026. The saving is calculated against the Swisscom promotional price of CHF 59.90, not the list price. Wingo and Mucho work with promotional prices that can expire, Migros Mobile with permanent prices. Current prices for every provider in the calculator.

Only Wingo is a Swisscom subsidiary. Migros Mobile and Mucho are independent providers that rent the Swisscom network. For you the result is the same in all three cases: network quality, 5G availability and coverage stay identical.

Part of a larger telco wave in 2026

The Swisscom increase was only the beginning. Four waves with six providers in five months are taking shape:

DateProviderChange
1 April 2026Swisscom+CHF 1.90 on all blue Mobile plans
1 May 2026TalkTalk+CHF 1 to +CHF 3 on 22 plans
1 June 2026Salt+CHF 1 to +CHF 2 on 14 plans
1 August 2026Sunrise, yallo, Lebara+CHF 0.75 to +CHF 1.50

For consumers this means several exit windows: each of these adjustments opens the extraordinary right of termination for affected customers. Anyone who is reaching the end of their contract term in the coming months anyway should actively compare.

More saving tips for Swisscom switchers

  • Number porting: costs nothing, takes 1 to 3 business days. Requested at the new provider.
  • Use eSIM instead of a SIM card: saves activation fees. Swisscom CHF 0, Wingo CHF 0, Migros Mobile CHF 0.
  • Check the family bundle: Digital Republic Friends Flat from CHF 11.70 per person (3+ people) on the Sunrise network, or Wingo for a multi-person household on the Swisscom network.
  • Do not give up 5G: all three providers mentioned on the Swisscom network include 5G.

Methodology

handyabo.com checks the prices of all 22 Swiss mobile providers weekly, with larger deviations verified by hand. All prices cited in this article were exported from our database on 11 May 2026. The methodology is publicly documented at handyabo.com/en/how-we-rate.

Correction of 25 August 2026: the list price table previously gave CHF 71.80, 81.80 and 101.80 as the old prices and CHF 73.70, 83.70 and 103.70 as the new ones. The correct step is from CHF 69.90, 79.90 and 99.90 to CHF 71.80, 81.80 and 101.80. Those new list prices still apply today.
