yallo price increase on 1 August 2026: what we know and what you can do now
yallo is raising prices effective 1 August 2026. yallo communicates the details very sparingly (the official support page is hard to find and contains few details). handyabo.com sums up what is known, places the change in the context of the Swiss telco wave of 2026 and shows you what you can do now.
What we know so far
yallo has announced a price change effective 1 August 2026 on its official support page. Notably, yallo communicates the change very sparingly. The official support page is hard to find from yallo's main site (the URL has to be googled directly) and the detailed list of affected plans was not fully public at the time of our research.
Confirmed by yallo's communication:
- Effective date: 1 August 2026
- Mobile plans are affected (which exactly: the detailed list is communicated to customers with the bill)
- Extraordinary right of termination: 30 days from the announcement
yallo is a 100 percent subsidiary of Sunrise. The price change happens in parallel with the Sunrise price increase on the same date.
In context: four telco waves in 2026 (6 providers)
yallo is part of a bigger movement in the Swiss mobile market. Four providers are adjusting their prices in 2026 over five months:
| Date | Provider | Increase |
|---|---|---|
| 1 April 2026 | Swisscom | +CHF 1.90 |
| 1 May 2026 | TalkTalk | +CHF 1 to 3 |
| 1 June 2026 | Salt | +CHF 1 to 2 |
| 1 August 2026 | Sunrise, yallo, Lebara | +CHF 0.75 to 1.50 (Sunrise specifically) |
All four providers use similar wording in their communication: the "discount stays unchanged" or "for life". Mechanically, though, this means the discount amount in francs stays nominally the same but is applied to a higher list price. Effectively, customers pay more.
What can you do now?
Option 1: use the extraordinary right of termination
With any unilateral change to the contract you have a statutory extraordinary right of termination of 30 days from the announcement.
How to proceed:
- Wait for yallo's official notice (typically with the June or July bill)
- Keep the notice (it shows the announcement date)
- Send written termination to yallo customer service, referencing the extraordinary right of termination
- Pick a new provider in parallel, request number porting (free, 1 to 3 business days)
Option 2: stay with yallo
If your plan is only adjusted moderately (in line with the Sunrise wave: +CHF 0.75 to 1.50), you can stay. yallo traditionally has aggressive promos on some plans that may remain attractive even after the increase.
In May 2026 yallo ran two lines: the Swiss line, with Swiss Max as the largest plan, and the Europe line (Europe, Europe Plus, Europe Max) with unlimited EU roaming. yallo changes the promo prices on these plans almost weekly, sometimes by several francs. We deliberately quote no figure here that will be wrong next week: the yallo prices currently in force are kept up to date in the yallo profile.
Option 3: switch to a cheaper Sunrise MVNO
Since yallo itself belongs to the Sunrise group and makes the change jointly with Sunrise, switching to an independent Sunrise MVNO could be safer in the long run:
| Provider | Plan | Price/mo. | Advantage vs. yallo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digital Republic | Flat Swiss | CHF 13.00 | Base price, no promo, guaranteed true unlimited |
| Galaxus Mobile | CH unlimited | CHF 19.00 | Digitec Galaxus brand, transparent prices |
| swype | Surf Europe | CHF 24.95 | Roaming unlimited 41 countries, base price |
Table data as of 25 August 2026. It deliberately lists only plans with a stable permanent price. Providers such as Aldi Mobile or Lidl Connect regularly undercut these prices with promotions, but those expire. The calculator shows the current prices of every provider.
Note on swype: swype is also a Sunrise subsidiary (like yallo). Anyone who wants truly independent security should choose Digital Republic, Aldi Mobile, Galaxus Mobile, Lebara or Quickline (all on the Sunrise network but with a different owner).
Who is affected, who is not?
Probably affected (based on yallo's notice and the parallel with Sunrise):
- Existing yallo mobile plan customers with postpaid plans
- The Swiss line and the Europe line, plus the higher plans
- Promo customers pay proportionally more (discount amount nominally the same, list price rises)
Probably not affected:
- yallo Prepaid and bundles
- yallo Home Internet (no separate change is mentioned)
For the exact list you should wait for yallo's official notice or ask yallo customer service directly (tel. 0800 555 110).
Methodology and sources
The information on the price change was taken from yallo's official support page: support.yallo.ch (FR version). A German version exists on the yallo site, but it was hard to find at the time of our research.
handyabo.com compares all 22 Swiss mobile providers weekly and independently of affiliate relationships. As soon as yallo publishes the detailed list, we will update this page.
